Investment & Technology presents:
Risk & Responsibility
Investment Administration Conference
March 3, 2009
Sydney Exhibition and Convention Centre
The 12th annual Investment Administration conference, produced in association with the
Australian Custodial Services Association, focuses on ‘responsible’ risk taking and risk assessment for institutional investors.
It is likely that risk will be richly rewarded after the dust settles on the current crisis in banking and financial services but investors need, more than ever, the best assessment and measurement procedures.
There is no longer any guarantee that all of your counterparties will be around tomorrow. In this context, reporting and compliance will be scrutinised like never before.
Further, in an age of diminished expectations for many beta sources, any basis points that can be eked out of better implementation and after-tax management are precious indeed.
A total of 18 sessions, including plenaries and two concurrent streams – administration/technology and distribution/platforms – in one busy day.
Sessions include:
-
How We Got Into This Mess – A (very) Long-Term Perspective.
-
China and the New World Order. Chris Ruffle, Martin Currie, Shanghai
-
Putting it All Together – A Better Asset Allocation Mix After the Crisis. Gareth Abley, MLC Implemented Consulting
-
What’s Changed Forever – New Relationships in Financial Services. James Phalen, State Street, London
-

-
Securities Lending and Shorting – What’s a Fund to Do? Panel chaired by Leigh Watson, head of
NAB Custodian Services.
-
The Coming Revolution in Administration – Coupling Scale and Technology. Chris Bain,
Computershare Fund Services.
